Siding Installation in Woodridge, IL That Protects Every Wall
A new exterior does more than change how a house looks. Al Roofing and Rain Gutters has 15 years of experience installing siding in Woodridge, IL, with careful prep behind every panel.
What goes on your wall
Why a siding installation deserves a full plan
Siding is the first line of defense for the structure behind it. Rain, wind, sun and temperature swings all test the exterior of a home in Woodridge, IL every season. When installation is rushed, small gaps let water reach the sheathing, and damage can spread quietly before anyone notices it from the inside.
That is why our work starts before the first panel goes up. We look at the wall as a system: the framing and sheathing, the weather barrier, the flashing around windows and doors, and the finish you see from the street. Each layer has a job, and the finish only performs well when the layers beneath it are sound.
Choosing a material that fits your home
Different homes call for different exteriors. Vinyl is a common choice for homeowners who want a practical finish with simple upkeep, while fiber cement suits those who prefer a heavier, more textured look. We talk through the options, explain the trade-offs in plain language, and help you match a material to your house, your budget and how you want the property to look for years to come.
If you already know the material you want, we can work from that. If you are still deciding, we walk you through what each option involves during installation so there are no surprises later.
Detail work that shows in the finished wall
Straight lines, tight corners and clean transitions are the marks of careful installation. We pay close attention to corner posts, trim around openings, and the spots where siding meets the roofline, gutters or foundation. These are the places where moisture and movement cause the most trouble, so they get the most care.
Siding also needs room to expand and contract with the weather. We fasten panels so they can move as designed, which helps keep walls flat and lines true instead of buckled or wavy.
How your installation unfolds
Inspect and measure
We examine the existing walls, note any soft or damaged areas, and measure each elevation so materials are ordered accurately.
Prepare the surface
Old material is removed when needed, damaged sheathing is addressed, and the wall is made flat and clean for the new layers.
Install barrier and flashing
A weather barrier goes on first, then flashing is fitted around windows, doors and other openings so water is directed away from the wall.
Hang the siding
Panels are installed course by course, with corners and trim set to keep lines straight and joints tight.
Final walkthrough
We check seams, trim and fasteners, clear the work area, and review the finished exterior with you.
